Elizabeth Eklund is a master’s student in the Department of Environmental Sciences.  A recent graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, she is interested in the intersection of people and nature.  With a B.S. in Environmental Sciences, Elizabeth also minored in Environmental Economics and Policy as well as Anthropology (with a focus on archaeology).  She is always willing to approach subjects beyond her areas of focus.

Here at UVA, she is studying how natural and cultural resources are preserved in the National Park System, with a particular focus on how parks are formed and what this has meant for the local people who had associated themselves with the landscape before the government set the land aside.
